Graduate assistantship in education of ethics in technology

12-mo Grad Asst position open to start August 2019

Opportunity starting in the Fall 2019 for a graduate research assistant interested in a project on education of ethics in technology. This is to work on the Mozilla Foundation's Responsible Computer Science Challenge grant that UMBC was recently awarded - see more information here.

This would be a 12 month contract beginning August 2019.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Devising pre/post questionnaires towards assessing educational outcomes.
• Devise questions and conduct individual interviews or focus groups with students to assess educational outcomes.
• Analyze data and write reports for presentation or manuscripts.

Requirements
• Seeking a graduate student in psychology, public policy, or other social science related discipline.
• Interested in the current social and ethical issues around technology development and adoption.
• Experience with qualitative methods such as observation, interviews, focus groups and/or experience with questionnaire design and analysis.
• Good communication and collaborative work skills.
• Excellent writing skills.
