Inspired by Somewhere Over the Rainbow of Row Homes, We Fly
UMBC New Music Ensemble:
Music Inspired by "Somewhere Over the Rainbow of Row Homes, We Fly"
November 12, 2026 12PM–1PM
Join the UMBC New Music Ensemble, directed by Lisa Cella, for a performance inspired by CADVC’s exhibition “Somewhere Over the Rainbow of Row Homes, We Fly.” Bringing together student composers and performers to explore contemporary music, the ensemble will present a short program, including new compositions created in response to artworks in the exhibition and performed alongside the works that inspired them.
The New Music Ensemble is a student group that brings composers and performers together to explore the diversity of contemporary music. From Lisa Cella: “We are exploring inspiration and have found it in the exhibit “Somewhere Over the Rainbow of Row Homes, We Fly. We will present a short program of pieces, some newly composed for the occasion, in front of the work that inspired it.”
Featuring:
Bethan Cruise, Emiri Ohki, flutes
Sam Schott, Guitar
Kyle Bittle, percussion
Elizabeth Galilov and Tyrone Stanley, voice
