Description

Under the direction of Brian Kaufman, the UMBC Wind Ensemble performs music for the screen, including sounds from Blockbuster hits, Saturday morning cartoons, and Academy award winning scores. The event features UMBC Saxophone Professor and Director of Jazz Studies Matt Belzer as the soloist on music from John William’s jazz-inspired soundtrack to Catch Me If You Can. UMBC’s Jubilee Singers and Gospel Choir join to present music from the movie Selma; their director, Janice Jackson, will be a featured soloist on the performance. A highlight of the evening will be original soundtracks to several clips from well-known films, which were collaboratively composed by UMBC Wind Ensemble members under the guidance of UMBC’s very own James Dorsey.

Admission is free.
