First Week
- New faculty welcome! A welcome program for new full-time faculty will be held in the morning of August 19, 2024, with the College new faculty orientation to follow at 1:30pm in Fine Arts Room 427.
- Departmental chair meets with new faculty to discuss classes, logistics, mentoring, describe roles and responsibilities of department administration/staff
- Ensure new faculty member gets appropriate seminar and colloquia announcements
- Introduce new faculty member to members of the department
- Introduce new faculty member to graduate students
- Provide syllabi, class notes, or other materials to facilitate teaching, class prep
- Describe procurement procedures for new equipment
First Semester (some items may not apply to all faculty)
- Assign new faculty mentors and discuss roles and responsibilities
- Develop annual workplan

- Introduce the hire to potential collaborators and colleagues across the university
