In this legal history commentary, he examines the origin and historical enforcements and challenges of the 1972 Title IX Act, renamed the Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in Education Act in 2002. The Act prohibits institutions receiving federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex.
