Congratulations to Asian Studies Alum Julian Tash!!

Julian is a semi-finalist for a Fullbright fellowship

Julian is a semi-finalist for a Fulbright fellowship for graduate study in Taiwan, at National Chengchi University.

He is also a finalist for the Blakemore Fellowship which would allow him to study Japanese at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Studies in Yokohama.

Julian was named first runner-up for ASIANetwork’s Marianna McJimsey Award: 2019 Student Paper Competition for his paper “Democracy Suppressed Allied Censorship in Occupied Japan, 1945-52.” His submission was based on his History honors thesis, which was supervised by Professors Vaporis and Oyen.
