Free Tax Return Preparation
Are you a faculty/staff member who makes $54,000 or less in household income? If so, you could have your tax returns prepared for free at UMBC!
The Division of Student Affairs is working with a group of students to bring a program called VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) to UMBC. VITA works with student volunteers and trains them to become income tax return preparers. Once certified by the IRS training program, sessions are held for campus and community members to have their tax returns prepared for free by the volunteers.
Appointments are required and are available Saturdays from February 27 to April 9th (closed March 12 for Spring Break) at the Multipurpose Room in the Apartment Community Center on Walker Avenue. See below for a flyer and more information about the program and please spread the word to your colleagues!
For more information, contact Trisha Wells, Director, Student Affairs Administrative and Business Services at 5-3108 or via email at twells@umbc.edu.
Many thanks for all that you everyday to make UMBC such a dynamic, caring workplace that inspires ongoing learning and development!
