Raising Black Boys to Succeed in School & In Life

Knowing that their own African-American son, Idris, would face challenges as he navigated school, Michele Stephenson and Joe Brewster filmed the experience and produced an award-winning documentary, American Promise. Their work continues as they share the latest research and personal anecdotes in their new book Promises Kept: Raising Black Boys to Succeed in School and in Life. OSI-Baltimore board member Robin Wood will serve as moderator.
