Black & Gold Rush 2026

Black & Gold Rush is officially here 🎉

UMBC Giving Day: See Yourself in Black and Gold Rush!

Please Join us for Black & Gold Rush on March 4 – 5!

This year's theme—See Yourself In—is an invitation to all of us to see ourselves in UMBC's story. For 36 hours, our community will come together to support what makes UMBC extraordinary: scholarships that change lives, research that breaks new ground, programs that meet students where they are, and the people who make it all possible.

The Cathy Hiebler '98 and Chip Hiebler Scholarship:

A need-based scholarship for students who are facing a financial hardship or challenge that may prevent them from completing their degree

The Zainab Damji Memorial Scholarship:
Students who wishes to pursue a career in some form of education (this could include after school programs, adult learning, citizens science, etc.), and who has demonstrated leadership and service to an identified community.

The La Noue Award:

Provides students the opportunity to explore multiple disciplines through real-world experiences outside of the classroom. Recipients of this award may use the funds to attend academic conferences, engage in undergraduate research, and participate in study abroad programs.
