Intern with the Brooke Lierman Campaign

PAID Internship with Maryland Comptroller Candidate

Join a leading statewide Democratic campaign as a stipend intern to help elect Brooke Lierman as Maryland's first woman Comptroller and to learn about how campaigns work! Learn about Brooke at BrookeLierman.com 

Students will work a flexible schedule with the goal of working 15 hours per week based around their school schedule.

Seeking students who have an enthusiasm for civic life, liberal politics, and are interested in learning new skills and meeting new people! No prior political experience is needed.

Start date: The goal start date is September 6th although the internship can start sooner based on candidate availability.

End date: November 9th - Day after Election Day

 Goal is 15 hours per week with schedule flexibility.

Pay: Interns will receive a stipend paid out on the first and fifteenth of each month through the General Election.

Virtual or in-person: The internship will take place in person with specific elements able to be done virtually.


Brooke will focus on solving the many income-based issues facing Maryland communities, families, and small businesses. She will work to unlock the potential that exists in this state but which is out of reach for so many!

Duties 

- You will be a lead for direct voter contact

- You will help amplify the campaign's message via social media, events, and event recruitment

- You will help plan, find and execute campaign events

- You will learn how to network with activists in your area

- You will learn how to use VAN -VoteBuilder- upon which all Democratic campaigns rely.

-You will help input data, manage administrative tasks, etc.

- You will interact with voters at events around the state and contact voters in key areas around the state (including by phone, canvass, and text)

-You will be involved in program planning and brainstorming and input will be welcome on any work of the campaign

-Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a letter of recommendation and a member of the campaign will be happy to serve as a reference for future opportunities

Requirements:

1. Legal ability to work in the US

2. Reliable transportation

3. Ability to attend events on weekends

4. A comfort level (with training) talking to members of the public about politics
