Dr. Shawn Bediako will be giving a Keynote Lecture

Dr. Shawn Bediako will be giving the Racial Equity and Action Keynote Lecture for the 24th Annual Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Symposium at the University of Pennsylvania on October 22. The title of the presentation is "Peculiar: Sickle Cell Anemia and the Mythical Science of Race", part of my

forthcoming book on the intersections of race, science, and society.

Additionally, Shawn was just named to the Advisory Board for the Furious Flower Poetry Center at James Madison University, the first academic center for Black Poetry in the United States.
