POLI 439 now offered this Fall Semester

Pandemics, Climate Change and Litigation

All upper division students welcome. Critical reading and thinking skills especially welcome.

No book purchases required.

Courts have been playing a big role in governing around the world. They matter not only because judges decide some things, but because cases get filed, whether or not courts ever write an opinion. Want to think about it this semester through the pandemic, and climate change?

Did you know people have been going to court around some key problems in the pandemic? Do you know it's been about insurance (try not getting paid when you have to close your business), about refunds, and about whether state government authority to close places of worship? Want to think about what we've all been living through in the last while through some political science concepts?
