Writing for Public Audiences through The Conversation

Info sessions to learn about writing for public 9/28

This Friday we will host info sessions for faculty to learn about writing for public audiences through The Conversation, an independent, nonprofit publisher of commentary and analysis written by academics for the general public (UMBC is an academic partner). Each session will be just an hour, and we'll have coffee and pastries. Faculty, PhD students and post-docs are also welcome.

The info sessions will be:
  • Friday, Sept. 28, in Commons 318 (note: updated location).
    • The 9:20 session on energy research is now expanded to include environmental research more broadly.
    • The 10:30 session on research about nonprofits, philanthropy, and safety net issues is now broadened to include social disparities more generally.
These sessions are open to both faculty who are approaching this as a new opportunity and faculty who have already written for The Conversation, but would like to meet an editor in person.

Please RSVP ASAP to dwinnick@umbc.edu (including the session you plan to attend).

Best,
Catalina
