A game night fit for a Roman Legion!

Description

Life as a legionary officer was as grueling as it is legendary. Fighting on the periphery of the Empire, marching through rain, snow, and blazing heat, and conquering most of the known world certainly sounds as if it begs for reprieve. When officers weren't breaking their backs expanding the boundaries of Rome, they gamed and gambled much like we do today.
Join us on March 30th in the Skylight Lounge for a lecture from Dr. Bailey-Kutner about the games of the Roman world, and then play like a Roman! We have a large select of recreated games straight from the legionary camps, as well as a selection of modern games that sport the Roman conquering spirit - such as Risk, Munchins: Legends, and 7Wonders. Oh! And what would an ancient styled gathering be without food and prizes? Students who stay to play will also be able to "feast" with us. Food and prizes will be awarded via "champion chips" [each game is valued at varying number of points].

For more information and to RSVP please contact Riley Auer (asarah1@umbc.edu). Please RSVP before March 22nd.
